The festival guests and participants are famous people from the cinema world – movie directors, actors, movie and TV stars, cultural workers, politicians, public figures and many others, including people from the movie crews of the competing movies.
The festival motto is a quotation by the great Russian author Leo Tolstoy: Laugh is love for the human kind.
As a tradition, at the festival’s Opening Ceremony the following awards are given: For the Contribution to the Comedy Genre, For the Contribution to the National Sense of Humor, For All the Good Things. In different years these awards had such winners as Eldar Ryazanov, Georgiy Daneliya, Georgiy Daneliya, Yuri Nikulin, Mikhail Zhvanetsky, Leonid Kuravlyov, Ludmila Gurchenko, Leonid Yarmolnik, Valentin Gaft, Larisa Dolina, and other most known and popular movie and theatre actors and directors.
On October 18, as a part of the festival, The Railway Culture Center (Dom Kultury Zheleznodorozhnikov) showed the cartoon Sheep and Wolves - and Vladimir Nikolaev, the producer and chief executive of the Wizart studio, introduced it.
Sheep and Wolves will also be screened in Maysky of Tula Oblast on October 20, at 6 pm.
